Chili Lime Fish

Tasty Chili Lime Fish

  • 2 medium tilapia fillets (diced)
  • ¼ tsp cooking salt
  • ¼ cup rice flour or ordinary flour
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil


  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp chilli flakes or red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce or fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice

Garnish (optional)

  • 2 tbsp coriander / cilantro leaves
  • lime wedges

Serve with

  • Jasmine rice
  • Roasted veggies
  • Baked potato


Wondering what type of fish is best? I use tilapia because it’s reasonably affordable, and I like that it’s a firm flesh so it’s easy to dice. You can use most types of fish for this recipe, although I’d probably avoid oily fish. If you’re camping and going fishing try this recipe with whatever you catch.
Perhaps the biggest thing with this recipe is the level of spiciness. I’ve dialed back on the red pepper flakes and sriracha but if you’re a fan of spicy food you may want to add more.
